6 days fever

G had high fever up to 39.9 degrees. It was on and off for a period of 6 days. We saw 3 doctors and finally got her warded in Mount Alvernia. She is now alright and resting at home. Doc Tan says that she has to stop school the remaining days of the week to prevent other kids from catching any potential virus.

It made me so worried that 6 days. I was constantly sponging her and checking her temperature every 2 hours, applying essential oils on her, giving her medicine, diffusing oil in her room, praying over her closely and hugging her tightly whenever she calls for me.

Haven't got a proper sleep at all the whole week of course. But I am very glad that she is recovering well and back to her normal self again.

I just bought her a new bed from http://www.ibenma.com.sg/ and it will be coming in next Wed. $790 inclusive of delivery and 5 year warranty. Hope that she likes her new bed and can sleep well in it. It's an upgrade from her current floor mattress and her promotion to be a big sister.

SAHM back in action

I want to thank my mom especially because she sacrificed her work schedule to fit into taking care of G. I also want to thank Hubby for arranging to work in the afternoon shifts when my mom couldn't help out. Thanks to my dad who takes G out for walks in the afternoon occassionallly when I needed to rush for assignments and waiting until G's bedtime just doesn't work.

Anyway, I am back now a full time SAHM with G. I am glad to say that her nap and her bedtimes are now close to perfection. She resisted naps for 3 days in a row, started to get all cranky in the afternoons and crashed at 6 pm only to wake up at 4 or 5 am refusing to go back to sleep. I have fixed those problems and now she is a champion sleeper.

She has twice, bidded me goodnight and proceeded to close the door herself and went to bed on her own (Oh yes she is on mattress now, no more cot). On other days, I will lay down beside her, pat her for 2-3 minutes and tell her that "mommy needs to go and shower and sleep too." and then leave her room. It has been so for close to 3 weeks and she didn't cry a single bit. I feel so good about it. One hard lesson that I've learnt is NEVER attempt to sneak out when she is sleeping. Always do the bedtime routine and then cuddle, hug, kiss whatever and then bid goodbye, letting her know / see you walk out her door.

We have begun praying together too. She is my prayer partner. We prayed for her friends who were sick, for family outings to be fun, for daddy to be with us, for the haze to go away, for her cousin who fell down and had a bruise etc.

Although most moms have mentioned about the terrible two syndrome, I find her such a gem at this age.
